Beth Martin Smith has a strong track record in sales and marketing of consumer goods and media, working with two different companies that grew from start-ups into multi-hundred-million dollar, nationally recognized brands.  She was the third employee at Acorn Media, which now owns 80% of Agatha Christie Ltd.  She was also a driving force at Gaiam, where she worked to make sure that no bookstore in America was complete without a yoga section, working closely with Barnes & Noble, Amazon, Books-A-Million and other chains.

Seeking relief from the frenzied pace of life in the Washington DC area, she moved to Eureka Springs in 1999, where her grandmother used to take her to shop for scones and antique toys as a child.  After working remotely from home in Eureka for ten years, she became a massage therapist for five years and then worked at Bear Creek Nursery, propagating the plants in the greenhouses and driving the tractor.
